Buena Vista, Colorado |
I was raised in Buena Vista, Colorado on the Young Life camp properties where my dad worked. Because of my home-education, I spent a significant part of my childhood roaming forests and hills that surrounded our house. My brother, Jon, and I played for hours: building forts, warring with the low-hanging dead limbs, hunting squirrels, and pretending to be cowboys in the old west. Looking back, it was as close to an ideal boyhood as any man could want.
I was brought up in a Presbyterian Church that called itself a 'community church.' I was raised by reformed Catholic and a Baptist mom (both of whom are now Anglican). My personal theology aligns most closely with the Southern Baptist Convention (though I certainly do not represent them). I am mostly concerned with figuring out how to live a life in submission to Jesus Christ.
I attended Texas A&M University and graduated with a degree in English Composition. I completed a post-graduate certificate in Leadership and Discipleship through The Forge in Tyler Texas. I am In my last year of a Master of Arts in Theological Ethics at Fuller Theological Seminary.
